My artwork focuses on patterns in the natural world that I have observed throughout years of travel to all seven continents and all fifty states. Each piece stands as a visual chronicle of these adventures, serving as a testament to my fascination with the profound interplay of shapes, colors, and textures that not only convey mood and meaning but also encapsulate the distinct atmospheric qualities of each region.
Navigating the realms of both painting and printmaking, I employ a diverse array of materials and techniques in my artistic practice. With each piece, I embark on a journey of experimentation and curiosity. While I often initiate a work with a clear intention, the dynamic interplay between intent and chance frequently leads me down uncharted artistic paths. The result is always a revelation, as I am never quite certain how a painting will take shape until it is brought to fruition.
In an ever-accelerating world, I aim to offer respite through my art—inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the beauty and wonder of the natural world. Through my work, I hope to instill a sense of harmony and awe in those who engage with it, fostering a deeper appreciation for the boundless complexities and harmonies that nature presents to us.
